Friday Jan 16

It was D-Day today. 4 nterviews with candidates for he position of ICT Manager at FARA.

It was a L O N G day. We got up before six and walked for an hour, which was nice.
Yemi does that everyday and early in the morning the temperature is good.
So I went with him. We walked through the 'airport region' which is very neat, it's a very modern part of Accra.
You need to watch out for cars, most streets don't have a separate lane for walking, but Yemi took good care of me.
I felt warm when we got home and a little bit dizzy, forgot to take water with me.
By the way, we are here (red icon):

Or take a look at Google Maps:

Job interviews

We went to the office at around 7:30PM and cam back around 19:30.....
Of course I am not going to tell anything about it but I can tell you that I learnt a lot and that it was really interesting.

The panel consisted of 6 people, 2 from FARA, 2 from other organizations and then Yemi and me. Yemi had to leave the room some times to do some other work.
Each applicant had to introduce himself and do a presentation about his ideas for FARA concerning the ICT. And then the panel had some (actually a lot of) questions.

We had lunch after the second interview. Nice African food had been ordered for us.
I found out one of the panel members, who works at FARA, is from Congo, a French speaking country. The others were Ghanians.
We were talking about food ... like the difference between soup and stew. So I said: Dutch Ertwensoep would definitely be classified as stew by many Africans.

By the way, there are no coffee machines here. You boil water and use instant coffee (oploskoffie in Dutch).

When we came home I went straight to my room.
I saw that Yemi was really tired too, so I told him not to worry about me. He needed to sleep.

Around 10 PM we had bread with egg, watched South African tv for a short time and I went back to my room. I felt so sleepy....
